CCF remembrance 2017 Lucton has a thriving Combined Cadet Force (CCF) contingent of over 100 cadets.

The school works closely with the Ministry of Defence (MOD) in what is described as an ’Educational Partnership’ within the School. Cadets at Lucton receive comprehensive training, ranging from first aid, adventure training, map and compass to skill at arms.

The overall aim is to develop teamwork, self-reliance, confidence and leadership skills. As well as weekly parades, there is regular weekend training either in school or on MOD training areas which, together with a week-long, annual camp, allow for significantly more in-depth training.

Cadets also join the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme in Year 10.
