Mrs Gill Thorne, MA BA (hons), PGCE, LLAM
At every stage throughout the school, I am conscious of the need to develop so much more than academic prowess during the students' time with us. I aim for the students to reach the university of their choice, but also to ensure that they have well-developed personalities and are fully capable of succeeding in their chosen careers and in all areas of their lives.
At Lucton, we offer the pupils so many opportunities for discovering new skills and talents, for becoming involved in challenging and demanding pursuits and for developing responsibility and leadership skills.
The best way to appreciate what Lucton will do for your family is to come and visit us. I always try to make time to meet visitors and prospective students personally and I would recommend a visit whenever possible. I know that for some overseas students this is not always practical, so please spend some time checking out every corner of this website to build a picture of Lucton. You could also e-mail the Registrar and ask her any questions you may have.
I AM PROUD TO ENDORSE AND CHAMPION LUCTON'S ETHOS:
To bring the best out of every individual, recognising their unique gifts, talents and abilities. At Lucton, we aim to provide a secure, happy environment in which pupils can flourish, academically, socially, intellectually and physically.
We cherish what is good, wholesome, honest, worthwhile and true.
Collective worship takes place in daily assemblies and monthly Sunday Services. Lucton School was founded on Christian principles, to which it still adheres. Nevertheless, Lucton welcomes students of all faiths and provides support to all in maintaining their own religious observance.
Through the daily assemblies, curriculum teaching in PSHE and the House Tutor system, Lucton supports the values of honesty, integrity and a clear understanding of right and wrong.
